Notes: This was the first song that Pictures of Lenny, with Kerri, recorded as a band. I wrote the song while I was living in Red Bank, TN. I don’t know if anyone knows this, but the song is actually written from Kerri’s point of view. While we attended college together, she dated our drummer at the time. It ended after I graduated college. After him, she dated a guy that was still at college with her. However, it did not end up working out. The song is about those two relationships. I don’t think I ever mentioned it to her. My bad. Once I got the song completed, I called Andy and we decided to get a band together. Obviously, I called Kerri since she lived close to Chattanooga. After that I called J. Ford, that went to college with my brother. He was a good drummer and lived close by to Chattanooga as well. Our bass player, Britton could not make it to record, so we got Meygan to stand in. She went to grade school with me in the class below mine. I don’t think I have actually seen her since we recorded this song. We ended up recording the song at Digi-Sound studio in Harrison, TN. There are two studio versions of the song, but most people have not heard the first recording. They are basically the same, but the first version has finger picking in it, and no acoustic guitar or lead. I may eventually add it here, but for now I’m just adding the good studio version, the WSDQ interview version, and the Uncertain Earthworm Unplugged version.
This song was also the most requested song on WSDQ the year it came out. That is why we ended up doing the interview and acoustic show for them and their television station.
